Case Study: Twinscape
Twinscape manufactures luxury moving products for the home or spa. Moving swimming pool floors are the company’s flagship systems, which they design, engineer, install and maintain all over the world — including within the homes of the rich and famous!
The company offers custom made solutions for a range of requirements, including submersible pool walls, movable spa covers, retractable fences, movable benches and disappearing walls.
A scissor lift operated swimming pool floor by Twinscape requires a large hydraulic cylinder to sit at the bottom of the pool, connected to cables. When the cylinder pulls back, the floating platform is pulled down. With the push of a button, a specialist sensor will detect and stop the platform to provide the desired pool depth.
The cylinder, integral to the entire system, is custom designed and developed. It requires precision engineering to prevent issues and resulting downtime for Twinscape’s customers.
Typical lead time for the cylinder is 75% of the total project turnaround time: any issue with the lead time and cylinder will delay order completion and delivery. If quality is compromised by insufficient engineering, the cylinder can leak internally, into the swimming pool, or on the front seal.
Prior to Phoenix, Twinscape consistently faced issues with lead time, quality, and communication from suppliers.
