We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team and help shape the future of marine engineering.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take the lead on the design and development of advanced mechanical lift systems and hydraulic actuators. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and fabricators to deliver high-quality, custom-engineered solutions for the world’s most prestigious yachts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design process from concept through to production.
- Develop 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings.
- Specify materials and components suitable for marine environments.
- Collaborate with electrical, hydraulic, and manufacturing teams.
- Conduct design reviews, FEA analysis, and testing support.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design practices.

Key Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within marine, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong proficiency in FEA analysis
- Understanding of hydraulic systems and marine environments is a plus.
- Experience with geometric tolerances and CNC machined parts
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work closely with our Senior Engineer and Design Manager to assist in the design, development, and documentation of mechanical and hydraulic systems. You will take on smaller design tasks and projects, helping to bring innovative solutions to life while gaining valuable industry experience.

Full Job Description
The requirement is for a knowledgeable Hydraulics Engineer with experience in technical power unit build, fault finding and commissioning hydraulic powered equipment.
You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of hydraulic powered machinery including pumps, manifolds, valves, pipework systems and controls.
The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience on Hydraulics systems, hold formal qualifications and be conversant with current hydraulic requirements on hydraulic control systems.
Key requirements:
- Cetop IH2 minimum, IH3 preferable (or similar MH2/MH3)
- Engineering experience with expertise in hydraulics & Electrics
- Experience in hydraulic power pack build
- Experience in industrial, marine, mobile, or offshore hydraulics.
- Ability to read technical schematics and interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams.
- Some experience in fabrication/welding
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Full UK driving license
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for SAT and Commissioning
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering.
- Stage 2 Proportional Hydraulics
- Stage 2 Accumulator competence
